``Rubber Hose Gentlemen`` and ``Millionaire Mountain``

I’ve been known to dip my fingers in a thousand-and-one pots at any given time, but this is a stew I’m especially excited about.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about many-o’ side-hustles for those suddenly finding some extra time up their sleeve: redoing the landscaping, starting an online business or scoffing one’s face with a shit-ton of Lotus Biscoff spread, just to name a few.

For me, I decided I’d pursue my long-lasting love affair with television screenwriting. Personally, I’ve always believed that the medium of TV and film supports my storytelling unlike any novel and/or online blog ever could. With that in mind, I zeroed-in, cultivated 5-6 concepts/loglines and tried my hand at a blank sheet of digital paper, courtesy of the acclaimed screenwriting software, Final Draft 👨🏽‍💻.

The outcome? Two TV spec pilots I like to call: “Rubber Hose Gentlemen,” and “Millionaire Mountain.”

Here’s the logline for my current WIP-novel-turned-spec-pilot, “Rubber Hose Gentlemen”:

New York, 1929. To save his reputation and his company, a mob-controlled, silent animation mogul and his imaginary, cartoon sidekick must survive the aftermath of a shocking workplace murder, all while keeping the true nature of his affairs hidden from his colleagues and family.

And an original idea, inspired by daytime television (there’s a ton of that going on during this latest Melbourne lockdown!), I called “Millionaire Mountain”:

To protect the secrets of his double-life, a gambling-addicted television host is coerced by a con man into fixing the outcome of his game show.

Both scripts are available for review to industry personnel at this link.

To wet the lip, so to speak, I’ve provided a sample of the first four pages of “Rubber Hose Gentlemen,” exclusive to my website visitors. Check it out below 👇
