YouTube 'FLPs' to Begin New Compositions

When You're Outta Ideas, YouTube is Your Friend

We all drift into creative purgatory every once in a while. Does it suck like a dying vacuum? Sure. Is it repairable with anything other than time? That’s arguable.

Today I’m talking music. There’s no better feeling than hitting that purple-patch. That free-flowing momentum that burns with the force of unleaded creative fuel. I’d say that I hit a purple-patch once every three months. Seldom, right? Truth is, with everything going on in life, that sonic energy isn’t always present.

That’s when my good pal YouTube steps in.

YouTube FL Studio templates allow you to build a record from the ground-up, drawing on inspiration from records with similar sounds.

Sometimes, no matter how hard I try, I struggle to lay down that first chord. To sequence that first drum pattern. YouTube FL Studio templates allow you to build a record from the ground-up, drawing on inspiration from records with similar sounds. Utilising .WAV, .MIDI and VST files from existing FL Studio templates provides a malleable reference to leverage as you capitalise on an existing foundation and begin to build with your own bricks.

What kind of genre are you into today? RNB? RNBass? Hip-Hop? Pop? Dance? EDM? Whatever the case, pick your favourite artist or producer and slap their name inside that YouTube search box, followed by the term ‘FLP.’ That’s a Fruity Loops file.

Sometimes you’ll stumble across remix FLPs (as is the case above), offering a little extra mustard to work with. The beautiful thing about creativity is that it’s universal. We inspire each other each and every day and then we muscle these muses to inspire the next person standing beside us. We draw off the imagination of our peers to create a new adventure for ourselves.

And that’s the kind of stuff I just love about creativity.
